Warm, very warm…

I’ve had more pleasant experiences, but never in a minivan in Mississauga.

Two Words: Krispy Kreme. The Hot Light was on.

Oh. My. God.

Okay, I did not know what to expect when two friends suggested a drive across the entire city for donuts after a night on the town.

Now I know. Hell, next time I’ll even take the bus.

The store itself was closed – it was pretty late – only the drive thru was open. The line up to the window was at least 20 cars long. There was a police car there too. I was told the lines get so long a cop is needed to direct traffic. For donuts?

Once we got to the front of the line, the line behind us snaked all the way out of the driveway and down the street. For donuts?…err, ‘doughnuts’ spelled the Krispy Kreme way on the menu.

Order time. I wanted one donut and a coffee double-double. One donut was out of the question I was told. Thinking I did not really need a donut (the topic of another missive) I insisted on having only one. My friends ordered two dozen and I thought they were nuts.

So, I ate one (thinking this was my only one)….warm, sweet, melting in my mouth…and then I promptly ate four more.

I ate five. Five. FIVE!

Like I said, never in a minivan in Mississauga. I grew up in Scarborough.
