Tonight on American Idol the group number was Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing. That song is considered to be one of the greatest power ballads of all time. It is definitely one of the best songs of the 80s. And it is the second only to Oh Sherrie in the Steve Perry musical canon.
I haven’t been this excited since the Sopranos finale. (Tony lived by the way.)
Of course they used the real track for the Sopranos but the Idol wannabes did okay— at least they chose a good song.
And right this minute Lady Gaga is on the stage.
I think I need a drink. Good thing I have some stellar scotch in the cabinet.
