Had a nice dinner at Hernando’s Hideaway tonight and then drove to Tom’s Dairy Freeze for ice cream — ordinarily it would be just the right time of year to head to Tom’s but today we had to eat our treats in the car with the heat on. Ice floes are melting in the arctic and we’re so cold we can’t enjoy wasted calories in mid-April on a picnic bench.
Topics of conversation were wide-ranging but work always seems to be on the agenda. Everyone had interesting things to talk about…

- real estate and land expropriation
- the joys and torments of running a successful business
- home decor and furniture design
All I had was a story about a blurry tif that was, frankly, only interesting to me. I didn’t end up sharing it.
