bookmark_borderblue lake and rocky shore — I won’t return once more…

Some people enjoy blue lakes and rocky shores. I would rather stay at work late and write seventeen insightful memos in one day before I spend a night outside in a tent. Cottaging is fine — and can be very delightful with the right decor. But I just don’t do well sleeping close to the earth. I do my best sleeping in the middle of a big noisy city. The bigger the better.

And soon I’m going to the best city in the world for 2 nights of very noisy sleeping — hello Madison Avenue. Hello Manhattan! Hello summer holiday away from trees, rocks and mosquitoes.

Not one interesting thing happened today. Nothing.

I went to work and did work. I had two cups of coffee and a snack bar thing I got from Shoppers Drug Mart. Not the greatest tasting items but they do kill my hunger.

I did not go out for lunch today — I almost never go out to eat. I probably should change this habit. Working through lunch all the time is probably not healthy but it’s my choice.

Maybe I should choose to spend my lunch hour speed walking around campus or maybe I should get my eyebrow pierced — both are about as equally likely.

Tomorrow I hope something interesting happens. I need some thrills. Maybe I will share my need for some new thrills with the people I meet in my day-to-day travels. I bet that would give me some new material. Too bad I couldn’t write about it.
