	Hotel Affinia Manhattan; we spent part of the trip in a renovated room!
	This used to be my favourite New York restaurant.
	A bloody Caesar in New York? Yep at Elmo!
	At NYU. No idea. Art?
	Me at Lincoln Center. Forgive the hair — it was windy and we just walked 27 blocks.
	Sushi Samba in Soho (I think)…loved it in Las Vegas but didn’t go inside this time.

 

 

 

I just got back from four days in New York. I went with one of my dearest most wonderful friends; we’ve known each other for over 20 years.

Two theatre events were on the agenda:

1. SÉANCE ON A WET AFTERNOON is a psychological thriller about a medium, Myra Foster, her doting husband Bill, and the spirit of their deceased eleven-year-old son, Arthur, who speaks to Myra and is her contact for her séances.
2. GOOD PEOPLE with Frances McDormand, a gritty piece about aspiration and ecscape.

Both were excellent. But I especially enjoyed the opera since it was a first for me — but obviously not for most in attendance — I felt very young at Lincoln Center amid all of the opera-loving octogenarians.

We also went to some cool restaurants including Tia Pol and Elmo and a really loud and funky Mexican place filled with very beautiful people (where I did in fact feel older than I did at Lincoln Center).

Plus walking and more walking — something I could do all day — as long as there were refreshment breaks. And there were!

I can’t wait to head back. New York in the fall is lovely.
