The electrician could find no problems with the wiring but the microwave is definitely fried. A SHARPâ„¢ repairman came today and confirmed the diagnosis.

The dishwasher is also dead and gone. I washed all the dishes in it by hand. It was not the most pleasant experience.

It can’t be a coincidence, something must have happened to knock out both appliances. My guess is a power surge. Or else it was a murder-suicide in the kitchen (love) triangle.

Yesterday the microwave was moving in and out of consciousness. And today the dishwasher joined the microwave in the ICU. It’s as if the island (where they live) is attempting to secede from the kitchen.

Apparently the site super is sending in an electrician to do some surgery.

Right now I am having a drink — a drink in a glass I’ll need to wash by hand. Oh how I suffer.

Also no progress whatsoever on my 1/2″ rubber leg tips. None! Very disappointing.
