This summer I have found myself wearing a lot of khakis and polo tops. Loafers too. I am slowly turning back into my high school self.

As an adult I grew more adventurous and I have a bit of a reputation for enjoying interesting belts. And boots.

But for some reason, lately all I want to wear is a bit more conservative. This trend started a few years ago but it’s growing stronger.

To wit, this evening I was looking online for some Bass loafers. I need a new fall shoe and this loafer would make a lot of sense given all the button down shirts in my closet.

Is anything else going to happen? Is this peak of life syndrome? Am I going to suddenly perm my hair, too?

Thought #1: Stacy and Clinton just said that all neutrals go together! I knew it. Blue and brown go. Black and brown (something else I enjoy) go.

Thought #1: I really miss Nick Arrojo. Ted Gibson is a celebrity stylist and WNTW makeover subjects need hair that they can replicate at home. On tonight’s episode, he straightened the woman’s hair and she did not seem the type to spend a lot of time on her locks. Nick worked with what people had — not against it. I miss Nick. The producers have a made a huge mistake. If they ever get rid of Carmindy it’s all over.
